This weeks question is:
"What is one thing you wish you could tell your favorite author?"
My answer:
I don't really have a favorite author because I love so many, but if I could tell them all something it would be to stop making me wait so long for their next books! I hate starting a new book if I know it is only the first or second in a big series because that means once I'm done I'll have to wait at least a year for the next one. It drives me insane, but I guess the waiting just makes you love the book a little bit more. I know it isn't even the authors fault, but still LOL

Well... they have their own lives too. And they need sleep. And sometimes they lack inspiration and just stare at what they wrote.
ReplyDeleteThe wait is both lovely and hateful, since it really does make you love the series more, but maybe sometimes the wait is a little bit too long..

Drop by my FF?
Hopping through. I agree. It's killer to wait a whole year for another sequel.

OMG i hate waiting so long for books too, but i guess it makes them that more thrilling when they finally come out. Gives us something to look forward to.

That's true. I hate waiting for 1 complete year for the release of a sequel. It's so frustrating ! :P

Well, most of the self-published authors do a good job at releasing books at shorter intervals. But still, I get exactly where you're coming from. I can only say Cassie Clare and Rachel Vincent... hurry up!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, the waiting is hard. Sometimes I wish the books were released as stand-alones instead of trilogies so we didn't have to wait and deal with so much filler. But usually, at least, the wait is worth it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, I'm following you back :-)

I agree! I hate waiting, so I try to wait for all the books in the series to come out before starting a series, but it's gotten harder since I started blogging because I see new book releases everywhere!

Here's my Follow Friday :)
Oh, I can hear you! I actually started two or three new series just last month that I plan to continue reading. Have to wait for all of the new releases at least a few months. Argh!
ReplyDeletePatricia // My Hop
So true, I have absolutely no patience at all so waiting for books in series that I love is terrible.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and for following, I've followed you back via GFC
Well I must say, from what I have learned, it is not always the author not writing fast enough. It's the publishing world. Authors are usually working on the book that comes out after the one that comes out after the current release. Yeah, confusing...but it's just the way the publishing world works because even after they write the book there's still a lot of steps to go through!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting and following my blog! I follow you now too!
Have a GREAT weekend!

I totally agree. That, for me, is one of the worst things about loving a book series; having to wait so long for the next one.
ReplyDeleteGood answer.

ReplyDeleteI hate having to wait for the next book in a set to come out or just the next book from any author in general. If I am really caught up with the author and their writing style it can destroy me aching and longing for a new book to read.

I do realize it's mostly the publishers fault and not the authors, but I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that is frustrated by this. Thanks everyone for stopping by! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is a hard question that's for sure.

I wish authors wouldn't wait so long to release their next book too, but at the same time I don't want them to rush and put out a crappy book.
