I answered:
Old Fashioned Butter Pecan, MMMM!

The Friday 56 is a meme hosted by Freda's Voice. Basically you flip to page 56 (or 56% in your eReader) of any book and post a sentence or two (more if you want) from that page without being too spoiler-y. This gives us a glimpse into what you are reading or have read, and may even prompt us to add your book to our TBR piles!

My teaser:
I thought back to the nasty words and I hoped Mary and Alicia and Sierra never read them, either. I imagined what it would be like for one of them to stumble across that post about being "bussed in," and I felt queasy all over again. I knew what it was like to be new, and something like that--well, that would make you want to crawl into a hole and nev

This weeks question is:
Black Friday Eve! You have $100 (or pounds or whatever your currency is) to spend on books. What are you going to buy?

I answered:
Honestly there are so many books I want to read and I never know which ones to buy when I actually have the chance. Plus, books are just way too expensive and I feel like $100 wouldn't buy as many as I would want (or need). So instead I would most likely put the money toward my Scribd subscription because it would pay for almost a full year of unlimited reading which just seems like a much better investment considering I don't even have room on any of my bookshelves.
(This kind of reads like an Ad or something, but it's not I promise LOL)

However, some of the books I've been wanting to get my hands on are:

"The piskie made irritated buzzing sounds, pointing at me and waving her arms, and Todd shook his head. 'I know, I know! But he's the Iron Queen's brother. He's the only one I could think of.'
My heart gave a violent lurch at the mention of the Iron Queen, and I narrowed my eyes. 'What was that?'
'You have to help us,' Todd exclaimed, oblivious to my sudden anger. 'These things are after me, and they don't look friendly.'"

This weeks question is:
What are the funniest books you've ever read?

I answered:
I love witty characters so I'm going to say The Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead because of Rose Hathaway and more recently I just finished Confessions of a Virgin Sex Columnist! by Kay Marie which was hilarious and amazing.

Oh you know, just little things like he used to let Bridge and I braid his hair--butterfly clips, fake pink hair strands, glittery ties, the whole shebang. Share a random quote from the book you are currently reading.

I stand in silence, tapping my foot on the tiled floor. I don't want to look at Jett and Lucas, don't want to see the hope drain out of them. Hari's not here. None of the elders are. Id been relying on them to tell us what to do next. We've hit another dead end. I;m not sure how speaking to the doctor will even help us, unless he knows where they went.

This weeks question is:
If you could have an endless supply of food, what would it be?

I answered:
An endless supply of food? As in, I wouldn't have to pay for it and it would never end? Probably an endless supply of Mexican food then. Not sure if that's too broad lol but that's what I'm going with. I eat Mexican food on a weekly, if not daily, basis and have yet to reach a point where I am sick of it so an endless supply sounds like Heaven.

Inside the house, the music has been turned up again, and people are streaming in and out of the kitchen with their cups held high, swaying to the beat.
Clare glances up at the sky, which is pocked with stars, and closes her eyes.
When she opens them again, Aidan is watching her intently, his face only inches from hers, as if he's about to kiss her. She pulls back uncertainly, and he frowns.
"You're definitely going to have a shiner."
Clare brings a hand to her cheek, touching it lightly. "So are you," she says. "Maybe even two."

This weeks question is:
If you could get an ARC of any book, already published or not yet, what would it be?

I answered:
The ARC that I really, really, really wanted was This Is Where It Ends by Marieke Niijkamp. I requested it on NetGalley and was fortunate enough to be approved. It doesn't come out until January so I'm so happy that I get to read it in advance!

My eyes widened. She'd just served up my worst nightmare.
Carol laughed at my expression. "Don't worry. It only happened to me once, and Sam found me right away."

What is your favorite movie?

My stomach churned uncomfortably at seeing his distress. I took his hand in mine and leaned in to kiss his cheek then wrapped my arms around him. My mind was scrambling for another lie to tell. A lie to cover my lie. In that moment, it seemed like all I ever did was lie. Liar, liar, pants on fire.

You can only eat one cuisine type for the rest of your life. Which would you choose?

I answered:
Mexican food. Oh my god, how I love Mexican food! It seems to be the only thing I crave and it's always what I suggest when my friends want to eat out--to the point where they don't even ask me anymore, they just assume that's what I want. lol

She was quiet for a moment, and then she walked right up to the glass and leaned her forehead against it. I hung back, but then she grabbed my T-shirt and pulled me forward. I didn't want out collective weight against a single pane of glass, but she kept pulling me forward, and I could feel her balled fist in my side, and finally I put my head against the glass as gently as possible and looked around.

This weeks question is:
Is there a book you were required to read in high school that you actually loved?

I answered:
First off, I'm so excited to be one of this weeks featured bloggers!! So thanks to Parajunkiee's View for picking me!!

As for this weeks question: I've actually never had issues reading the required books for school. I was usually one of the few people that actually read the entire book instead of Sparknoting most of it; I just hated having to analyze every single word and symbol afterward. I took Brit Lit instead of Am Lit in high school and really liked almost everything we read--especially Pride and Prejudice and Hamlet. In middle school we read  The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton and The Giver by Lois Lowry and I really enjoyed those as well!

Neither Piper nor Dirk seemed to have showered. Squeezing in next to Piper, I thought twice about the wisdom of this. With so many people staying here, there was bound to be no hot water left in a hour. Maybe there was none left now. As for showering in the morning--well, we'd planned a dawn start. What would they smell like by the time we reached Roncesvalles tomorrow? Sheep's cheese?

This weeks question is:
If you were to get a tattoo, what would it say or what would the graphic be? Or if you have a tattoo, share a picture and its meaning.

  I answered:
I love these non-book related questions. So this is something that I was supposed to get a year ago, but the timing was wrong so I have yet to get it done. If I'm being completely honest with myself though, I'm stalling because I'm really nervous. The location I want (the side of my ribcage right under the bra strap, does that makes sense? Like where your arm rests) is supposed to be one of the worst places to get a tattoo. But I plan on getting this done because not only is it cute, but it has meaning.

It literally means "sincerity (or candor) gives wings to strength". I think this can be interpreted in a variety of ways. For me it means that believing in yourself (and being true to who you are) can give you strength. I also think that being sincere and honest in anything you do will just make you a stronger person.

Maybe I should make it my goal this summer? All I really have planned for the summer is school and blogging so it can definitely use some excitement.

She sat up without saying anything. His eyes followed her as she stood, hesitating for a moment as if her body was complaining about being away from his, then she placed one hand on his shoulder and deliberately placed one knee on either side of his lap. His thighs were as hard as his chest. Heat pumped through her again. She took a deep breath. "It seems...all I can think about is kissing you."

This weeks question is:
If you can step into one characters shoes (in a book) and be them for a day, who would it be and why? Also, if you want to be creative, what scene?

I answered:
This is so hard...There are so many great characters out there. I admire any character who is confident and unafraid to be themselves because those are some of the things I struggle with. I'd love to be a badass like Tris or Katniss or maybe a character that's constantly traveling because I have major wanderlust and am sadly too broke to do anything about it. lol

This weeks question is:
How would you pitch to the biz to make your favorite book into a movie?

I answered:
I have literally no idea how those things work so I don't know? Probably just tell them how good it is and that people would love it. lol But honestly I much prefer when books get adapted into TV shows rather than movies because I feel like a lot can get lost when writing a movie script because of the time constraints.

This weeks question is:
"How many books have you got on your TBR list?"

I answered:
Oh man... I honestly have no idea. My Goodreads shelf says I currently have 2,086 books that I want to read. But I never seem to make a dent in that number because I'm constantly adding more and don't read fast enough to actually catch up! I have an entire TBR shelf at home that is completely full of books I have yet to open because I either go to the library or get ARCs to review from Netgalley or through book tours. I really need to go through the list and delete most of them because this is getting ridiculously out of hand.

Recoil. Like the recoil of a gun. It's what he does again. Like he's been physically yanked back. Only this time, it's not anger that's on his face; it's something else. "No," he says.

This weeks question is:
"How do you write your reviews?"

I answered:
I always start off with my own synopsis and after that I don't really have a set way of writing my reviews. I take notes as I go to remember key things I want to say and I pretty much just talk about what I like and what I don't about whatever book I am reviewing. I've noticed I focus a lot on the characters because to me the characters are one of the most important aspects of a book; they can honestly make or break it for me. My biggest concern when writing a review is probably making sure I don't ramble...lol Other than that, I just try to be as truthful with my opinion as possible and try to highlight the best parts even if I end up not liking the book overall.

This weeks question is:
"How do you organize your books? Either at home on your books shelves or on your reading-device, or on your bookish platform like Goodreads, Leafmarks or Booklikes."

I answered:
At home I have 3 large bookshelves and I have my books organized alphabetically by author. This just makes it easier to find them because I tend to remember authors more than I do titles, I don't know why. As for on a bookish platform, I use Goodreads and just have my books divided on the 3 general "bookshelves" they have. I also created one where I sort out the books I've reviewed here on the blog so I can go back and look for them if I ever need.

I don't really have a favorite book, but I think it'd be cool to wake up in one of the Vampire Academy or Bloodlines novels by Richelle Mead. Only if I woke up as a dhampir though. Preferably a dhampir named Rose.

"What is the last book that kept you up late into the night just to finish it?"

There are so many good books that I've been unable to put down even at like 2:30am, but the most recent would have to be Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. I'm pretty sure it took me less than 24 hours to read this book, it was crazy good! I definitely recommend it if you haven't read it already.

This weeks question is:
"Who is your favorite villain from a book?"

I answered:
These questions are always so hard! I'm not going to lie, I tend to always root for the bad boy in almost every book. The good guy just never does it for me...I don't like them too nice, you know? But I'm not sure if they classify as actual villains...so maybe Neferet from The House of Night series or Olaf from A Series of Unfortunate Events.

This weeks question is:
"If you could choose one Supernatural being/creature to really exist, what would it be and why?"

Oh gosh I have no idea! I immediately thought about City of Bones by Cassandra Clare and The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa when I read that question so maybe Shadowhunters and Fey (or is it Fae?). But the good kind obviously. I definitely wouldn't want vampires and werewolves running around--that would be terrifying.

I plan on reading more than I did last year. I think my total for 2012 was a little over 50 which compared to some is WAY too little. I'm also going to try to blog regularly as well as write more reviews!
