Feature & Follow Friday (44) / Friday 56 (13)

Feature & Follow Friday is a meme hosted by Parajunkiee's View & Alison Can Read. Check out their blogs and the two Featured Bloggers of the week! This is great for finding amazing new blogs to follow and for gaining followers yourself!

This weeks question is:
Black Friday Eve! You have $100 (or pounds or whatever your currency is) to spend on books. What are you going to buy?

I answered:
Honestly there are so many books I want to read and I never know which ones to buy when I actually have the chance. Plus, books are just way too expensive and I feel like $100 wouldn't buy as many as I would want (or need). So instead I would most likely put the money toward my Scribd subscription because it would pay for almost a full year of unlimited reading which just seems like a much better investment considering I don't even have room on any of my bookshelves.
(This kind of reads like an Ad or something, but it's not I promise LOL)

However, some of the books I've been wanting to get my hands on are:

The Friday 56 is a meme hosted by Freda's Voice. Basically you flip to page 56 (or 56% in your eReader) of any book and post a sentence or two (more if you want) from that page without being too spoiler-y. This gives us a glimpse into what you are reading or have read, and may even prompt us to add your book to our TBR piles!

My teaser:
"The piskie made irritated buzzing sounds, pointing at me and waving her arms, and Todd shook his head. 'I know, I know! But he's the Iron Queen's brother. He's the only one I could think of.'
My heart gave a violent lurch at the mention of the Iron Queen, and I narrowed my eyes. 'What was that?'
'You have to help us,' Todd exclaimed, oblivious to my sudden anger. 'These things are after me, and they don't look friendly.'"

  1. I really enjoyed the first Iron Fey book - I think I'll have to continue the series!

Check out my Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings).

  2. I have to catch up with the Iron Fey! And I also like all the books of the Lunar Chronicles! Great choices!

  3. I did enjoy this book although I liked the original series more.

  4. Didn't like the first book in that series.... ;(

For me, I'd love to buy The Maps of Middle Earth and Illustrated Movie Companions of Twilight Saga and VampireAcademy... Happy friday!

  5. That's a good idea! As long as you use the money to feed your reading addiction, that's all that matters! ;)

    Here's my Follow Friday

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower :)

  9. I enjoyed that book. Of course, I like everything Julie Kagawa writes. I don't know what I would buy with an extra $100. I have 1960 books already on my TBR mountains and don't need anything. I have a fairy tale this week - The Amaranth Enchantment by Julie Berry. Happy reading!

  10. Hi,
Sounds interesting, I'll have to check it out.
    Have a great day!

  11. I'm trying to restrain myself from adding more books to my TBR pile, so I'd put the money aside for a while.
I haven't read anything by Julie Kagawa but I've heard a lot about this series. I'm not sure if it's something I'd enjoy.
My Friday post features The Mirror.

  12. I have to get my hands on Winter. I still have to start reading the Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa! It's been sitting on my shelf forever. New follower on GFC and Bloglovin :)

  13. That is probably a better choice. A year of unlimited reading vs. a few books? It's not too hard to choose...

  14. I have yet to read the Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa. I need to start it soon because it keeps staring at me from my bookshelf haha :) Great post.

  15. Another series I keep meaning to get started on! So little time!

    My 56 -

  16. I LOVE this series too. Got the latest one on my Kindle but I haven't time yet.
    Happy weekend!

  17. It's been a while since I read a Julie Kagawa book. Hope you enjoy your weekend!
