Top Ten Tuesday (11)

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

So this weeks topic is: Top Ten Books I'd Love to See as Movies/TV Shows
  • A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket - A movie already exists but they butchered it badly, so I'd love to see a remake that actually does this series justice.
  • Uglies by Scott Westerfeld - There's an IMDB page already created for a movie adaptation (maybe a tv show, I'm not sure) but there's no information as it's still categorized as "in development". I'm not sure if they're still working on turning this into a movie, but I'd love to see it on the big screen.
  • Looking for Alaska by John Green - So far this is my favorite of his books, so hopefully it follows in the footsteps of it's siblings and gets turned into a movie as well.
  • The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern - This also has an "in development" IMDB page.
  • The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer - I think this would be a cool ABC Family show, kind of OUAT-esque.
  • The Blonde by Anna Godbersen - This is a cool reimagining of Marilyn Monroe's life that would probably make an interesting movie.
  • The A-List by Zoey Dean - This could be the West Coast version of Gossip Girl.
  • Anything Gayle Forman, Sarah Dessen, Jen Calonita, Ally Carter, Susane Colasanti, etc would be awesome as well.

Top Ten Tuesday (9)

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

So this weeks topic is: Ten Authors I Really Want to Meet
  • John Green - I follow him on Tumblr and he just seems like a really cool person that I could learn a lot from. Plus his books are pretty great.
  • Lemony Snicket - I'm pretty sure that A Series of Unfortunate Events is what made me an avid reader and bibliophile. I've always wanted to know why he used the number 13 religiously.
  • Sarah Dessen - I always look forward to her new releases.
I'm going to leave this open and try to update it throughout the day because I can't think of anyone else???

There are SO MANY that I need to finish before I start any of these, but here are 8 that I've had my eye on for a while.

Top Ten Tuesday (7)

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

So this weeks topic is: Top Ten Authors That I'd Put On My Auto-Buy List

Richelle Mead
I don't know what it is about the Vampire Academy books, but they are one of my all time favorite series. And I love Bloodlines just as much. Mead just knows what she's doing when it comes to romance and action and suspense.

Julie Kagawa
The Iron King is a fantastic series, I definitely recommend it. Plus, there are some swoon worthy boys in this one. The Immortal Rules was also pretty good, but the Iron Fey series will forever be my favorite of hers.

Stephanie Perkins
Anna and the French Kiss is the first book I've read by Perkins, but it will most definitely not be my last. Honestly, I don't know what I loved more: St. Clair or the book.

Tahereh Mafi
I've only read Shatter Me but her writing is seriously AMAZING; I was in love by chapter 2.

Meg Cabot
Cabot has seriously been around forever. I've read a bunch of her books but my favorite is probably All-American Girl. I just really love how versatile she is!

Susane Colasanti
I think When It Happens was the first book I read by Colasanti and every one after has been just as great.

Jennifer Echols
I actually haven't read many by Echols. I just recently finished Such a Rush and really loved it so I thought I'd include her since as soon as I was done I added every book she's ever written to my TBR shelf on Goodreads.

Cassandra Clare
I devour her books, lol. I CAN'T WAIT FOR CITY OF BONES, THE MOVIE!

Suzanne Collins
She gave us The Hunger Games, what more is there to say?

Sarah Dessen
I don't even bother with the synopsis when it comes to Sarah Dessen; as soon as I see her name, I buy.

    Top Ten Tuesday (5)

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

So this weeks topic is: Top Ten Best Bookish Memories
    • Starting The Boundless Book List
      • None of my friends are big readers so I never really had anyone to talk to about the great books I was reading. I started this blog because I needed a place to write down my thoughts and I wanted to find people that love books as much as I do.
    • FINALLY renewing my library card after over 2 years
      • I wasn't able to get a card for the library branch that I wanted, but at least I can check out books again. I'm still working on the other card though because that library seems to have a better YA selection than this one.
    • The first time I was contacted by an author to read and review his book
      • I was so excited that he felt my blog was worthy haha
    • When I reached 100 followers
      • That was awesome.
    • When Meg Cabot followed me on Twitter
      • It still baffles me a bit when I see that she's one of my 60 followers LOL
Unfortunately I haven't had that many amazing bookish memories. I've never met an author or gotten a book signed or anything :(

    Top Ten Tuesday (4)

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

So this weeks topic is: Top Ten Settings I'd Like To See More Of (Or At All)

It honestly doesn't matter to me where a book is set, but these are a few I'd like to see more of:
    • The Bay Area
      • I live here and I love reading books about cities and places I've been to and know well.
    • College
      • I just started my first year in September so reading more about it would be cool. I guess they wouldn't really be considered YA anymore though?
    • A Deserted Island
      • I recently watched Blue Lagoon: The Awakening and fell in love with the idea. I think the only book I've read set on a deserted island is Lord of the Flies by William Golding.
    • London (past or present)
      • I'm in love with a city I've never visited so anything set in London is an automatic read for me.
    • Underwater
      • I've always loved mermaids, but anything under the sea would be cool even if they weren't involved.
    • Road Trips
      • I don't know about you, but I LOVE road trips and all the stuff people can get into when on one.
    • Portugal
      • I'm Portuguese so reading books set there would be awesome!
    That's really all I could think of...lol

    Top Ten Tuesday (2)

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

So this weeks topic is: Top Ten Bookish Goals for 2013
    • Read more
      • Last year I read a little over 50 books which compared to some people I've seen is almost nothing so this year I'm trying to beat that. My Goodreads goal is 55, but I want to try to finish even more. I'm doing pretty well so far.
    • Write more reviews
      • I tend to read way more books than I review and I'm not really sure why that is. I'm hoping to change that this year.
    • Renew my library card
      • I've been card-less since the library I used to go to decided to start charging $80 a year for membership if you didn't live in the required cities. I happen to go to school right next door now so they better let me have a student one.
    • Buy a new bookshelf
      • I have 2 big bookshelves and a smaller one that is about half the size of the other two and they are ALL full. I've started putting books on top of books. Pretty soon they will be piling up on the floor everywhere!
    • Buy more books
      • Because obviously if I get a new bookshelf I'm going to need more books to stuff it with, right? And then I'll probably need another bookshelf. It's a vicious cycle really.
    • Go to a book signing/tour
      • I've always wanted to go to get my book signed and to meet the author and whatever else you do at those things but I never know when they are or if there's even some in or near my city. Plus I doubt any of my friends would go with me because my friends all suck.
    • ...and that's really all I can think of.

    Top Ten Tuesday (1)

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

I thought I'd give this meme a try to see if it helps me get back into the blogging mindset. I've missed it and I really need to start reviewing again!

So this weeks topic is: Books I Resolve To Read in 2013

I have way too many books that I want to read, but these WILL be read this year.

    • The Indigo Spell by Richelle Mead
      • I seriously love all of the VA books and this spin off is just as great. I can't wait to get my hands on this one!
    • The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
      • I included this book, but what I really want to read is ALL of John Green's books. I've heard so many good things about each and everyone of them. I'm not sure why I still haven't taken the time to read them.
    • The Ivy by Lauren Kunze
      • By the synopsis this actually doesn't sound that great, but I've heard good things about it so I'm going to give it a try. Plus, I really like the cover and that's usually what draws me in anyways.
    • The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa
      • I read the first 3 consecutively (and love them), but for some reason stopped before I got to this one. I think it might not have been out yet.
    • Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging by Cathy Hopkins
      • Okay, ever since I watched Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging I've wanted to read this series. I have no idea if it's even any good, but that movie is awesome and Aaron Johnson is delicious so I thought I'd give it a go.
    • Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James
      • Yes I'm hopping on the bandwagon, and yes I'm super late, but come on EVERYONE has read this and I'm curious to see what all the fuss is about.
    • Matched by Ally Condie
      • I've seen this series everywhere and have been meaning to read it for a while now. I'm not sure, but I think I might even own the first one. Maybe.
    • Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
      • I make it a point to at least read one classic a year because I get so caught up in YA.
    • Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling
      • I've only ever read the first HP book and that was 2 years ago. I think it's time to read the second.
    • And all the unread books sitting on my shelf.
