This weeks question is:
If you were to get a tattoo, what would it say or what would the graphic be? Or if you have a tattoo, share a picture and its meaning.

I answered:
I love these non-book related questions. So this is something that I was supposed to get a year ago, but the timing was wrong so I have yet to get it done. If I'm being completely honest with myself though, I'm stalling because I'm really nervous. The location I want (the side of my ribcage right under the bra strap, does that makes sense? Like where your arm rests) is supposed to be one of the worst places to get a tattoo. But I plan on getting this done because not only is it cute, but it has meaning.
It literally means "sincerity (or candor) gives wings to strength". I think this can be interpreted in a variety of ways. For me it means that believing in yourself (and being true to who you are) can give you strength. I also think that being sincere and honest in anything you do will just make you a stronger person.
Maybe I should make it my goal this summer? All I really have planned for the summer is school and blogging so it can definitely use some excitement.

The Friday 56 is a meme hosted by Freda's Voice. Basically you flip to page 56 (or 56% in your eReader) of any book and post a sentence or two (more if you want) from that page without being too spoiler-y. This gives us a glimpse into what you are reading or have read, and may even prompt us to add your book to our TBR piles!

My teaser:
She sat up without saying anything. His eyes followed her as she stood, hesitating for a moment as if her body was complaining about being away from his, then she placed one hand on his shoulder and deliberately placed one knee on either side of his lap. His thighs were as hard as his chest. Heat pumped through her again. She took a deep breath. "It seems...all I can think about is kissing you."Excerpt From: Suze Winegardner. “Anya and the Shy Guy.”
Ooh sounds good. I hope you're enjoying Anya and the Shy Guy.
ReplyDeleteNice idea for a tattoo as well. I don't think I'd ever get a tattoo, I'd be sick of it within a week. LOL
Have a good weekend.

Oh Anya and the shy guy sounds interesting! I'll have to come and check out your review to see if I'll check it out.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of your tattoo and maybe you should aim to try and get it this summer!

Wow! You pick one of the most painful spots? Ow! My sister got one done on the top of her foot to the side. And she said it hurt like hell! LOL! That was tattoo #1 with her. But the quote is definitely nice!

I like the saying of your tattoo that you want, but don't think I could ever get one. :) That book also sounds good.

No tattoos for me. There is nothing I want on my skin for the rest of my life. Your book sounds good too. This week I am spotlighting First Grave on the Right by Darynda Jones. It's been on TBR mountain for a while. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteNo tattoos for this gal either. LOL
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun summer read to relax with:)

I have a Maya Angelou tattoo that says, I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings. It's written on my arm.
ReplyDeleteHOT 56! Sounds like the beginning of a relationship.
Happy weekend!
I don't have any tattoos, nor do I think I ever could. I keep chickening out. I'll just let my hubby get all the tattoos.

That is a powerful quote, and so very true. I say go for it when you are ready. If you truly want this tattoo to remind you everyday then the pain will be worth it. The pain will eventually go away, but the meaning behind the quote will always be there.
